Glassing the stems
From the scrap of cloth left from the bottom, cut two 3" wide strips that are long enough to cover the remaining sections of the stems ( about 15" long ). If you cut the strips at a 45 degree angle to the weave of the cloth it will take the curves better and lay flatter on the stems.
Wetout an area about 2" back from the stem on both sides and let the resin soak in for a few minutes.
Lay one of the fiberglass strips on the stem so that it covers about an inch of the bottom area that's already been glassed. Using un-thickened resin and a small brush thoroughly saturate this strip and work out any wrinkles. When it is completely saturated repeat the process with the other stem.
