Gluing scarfs

The two halves of each plank are assembled into full planks by gluing their stepped scarfs together with an epoxy gluing mixture.

note: the waxed paper has been omitted between the two layers in this picture to make it easier to see how the pairs are stacked
Since both ends of a QuickLap canoe are the same, the bow and stern ends of the planks are also the same. To make it easier to keep the panels aligned when gluing the scarfs, the planks from one side of the hull are stacked on the matching planks from the other side, with their scarfs at opposite ends.
