Getting ready
Lay the planks out on your work table with an inch or so between them and move them around so that you can fit the most number of planks on the table. This will generally be in the order that they were placed on the plywood sheet for cutting. When you are satisfied with the layout, remove the planks from the table and set them aside. Clean the table and assemble the supplies that will be needed for scarfing;
- epoxy and hardener with metering pumps
- West #403 Microfibers
- Waxed paper
- several pairs of gloves
- mixing cups
- stirring sticks
- 2" x 2" clamping pads cut from scrap 1/4" plywood. You will need enough to hold down all of the scarf joints, about 50 should do it
- six 1/2" finish nails
- a package of small nails with heads, and a hammer
